  • A native of Kyiv, UKRAINE Volodymyr Zaitsev studied piano with Irina Ocheretianaya at Zhytomyr Musical College and privately, with professor Tatiana Kravchenko of Kyiv Conservatory and Boris Behterev of Moscow Conservatory. Upon immigrating to the US he graduated from Mannes College of Music in NYC as a student of Nadia Reisenberg, also continuing his private studies with Alexander Edelman,  himself a student of Felix Blumenfeld, Vladimir Horowitz’s teacher. Vladimir also studied in Rome with Guido Agosti, one of the last students of Ferrucio Busoni.

  • Volodymyr Zaitsev made his Carnegie Hall debut with International Symphony as a soloist in Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto #1.

  • His solo debut at N. Y. Town Hall Select Debut Series was hailed "triumphant" by the New York Times.

  • After becoming a finalist in F. Busoni International Competition in Bolzano, Italy, Volodymyr performed throughout Italy, Canada, and the Far East. 

  • He was a guest on Robert Scherman’s “Listening Room” of WQXR N. Y. Times Radio and performed at Bar Harbor Music Festival in Main for six consecutive seasons. His performances were broadcast by Main and Louisiana Public TV networks.   

  • Volodymyr has established himself as a sought-after guest entertainer with various cruise lines:  Holland America, Norwegian, Princess, Crystal, Seabourn, Silversea, and Cunard cruise lines in Scandinavia, Russia, Iceland, Far East, Mediterranean, Africa, South, and Central America.

  • In 2014 he was a soloist with Garden State Symphony of NJ under the direction of maestro Anthony LaGruth and with Ternopil Symphony Orchestra under maestro Miroslav Kril as part of XIV Jazz Bez International Festival in Ternopil, Ukraine.

  • On March 20, 2016, he returned by popular demand to Bickford Theater in Morristown, NJ to perform Mozart, Piano Concerto #12, and Gershwin, Piano Concerto in F with members of Garden State Philharmonic.

  • In February 2017 Volodymyr performed G. Gershwin Piano Concerto with Khmelnytskyi Academic Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Sergey Leonov in Khmeltitsk and Zhytomyr Philharmonic Halls in Ukraine.

  • On September 27, 2018, Volodymyr Zaitsev performed G. Gershwin's "Variations On I Got Rhythm" and "Rhapsody In Blue"  with the National Academic Radio Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine under the direction of Volodymyr Sheiko, in a gala concert commemorating  120h Anniversary. The concert was presented by US Embassy in Ukraine and was televised live nationally.

  • As part of continuing celebrations of the anniversaries of G. Gershwin and L. Bernstein ( both families having Ukrainian roots)  on May 22, 2019, Volodymyr performed  G. Gershwin's "Variations On I Got Rhythm" and "Rhapsody In Blue" with Ternopil Academic Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Miroslav Kril in Ternopil, Ukraine.

  • In December 2019 he toured Ukraine in Zhytomyr and Rivne performing Mozart's  Piano Concerto #12 and "Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue" as part of the "From Mozart to Gershwin" project, accompanied by Rivne Chamber Orchestra.

  • In December 2021 Volodymyr gave a recital at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in Israel

  • In October 2022 he toured Louisiana and Mississippi, raising money for child victims of the war in Ukraine
